RESOURCES

About Stone, Sculpture, and the Arts:

Asheville Area Arts Council : Founded more than forty years ago, the AAAC is dedicated to developing cultural resources, city and audience development, fund raising and grant allocations, and administrative service assistance. Their website contains an events calendar, cultural information for the general public, and resources for artists in the Asheville / Buncombe County area.

About Stone is a non-commercial resource and contact point for people who work with stone, and those interested in locating sculptures and sculptors. The Virtual Library (formerly Stonehoo) is the most comprehensive directory by, for and about people who work with natural stone.

Traces is a career resource for stone sculptors which is dedicated to creating and strengthening ties between members of the international stone sculpture community. Traces features news and opportunities as well as links to tool suppliers, sculpture symposia, artist portfolios, sculpting workshops, and other resources of interest to sculptors.

The Tri State Sculptors Educational Association was formed in 1978 by a group of sculptors from Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina to promote public awareness and appreciation of sculpture in the region and to exchange ideas and information among its members.

The North Carolina Arts Council is a division of the Department of Cultural Resources. Through our programs, we give grants, organizational assistance, and guidance to the groups and individuals that make up North Carolina’s vibrant arts community.
